Improving accounts receivable management by employing a business service provider – A SunGard - EXL survey

Companies are increasingly looking at their receivable management to improve cash flow and mitigate risk. However, they frequently lack timely customer information and are unable to proactively monitor risk. To better understand the role of business service providers, EXL and SunGard® partnered to learn why companies struggle to improve their receivable management function, how they use partners, and what they expect from these partners. This study examines why the effective use of a service provider in the management of accounts receivable demands an approach that is collaborative, open, fact based, and enabled by effective use of analytics and technology. The results confirmed that those involved in business-to-business collections can and should expect more from service providers.
