EXL Concludes IIT Case Study Competition Excellence Quotient 2014

EXL (NASDAQ:EXLS), a leading provider of business process solutions, today announced the winners of its IIT case study competition – Excellence Quotient (EQ) 2014. The annual contest has helped EXL strengthen its association with the country’s top engineering talent since 2011. Aimed at testing participants’ potential in areas like problem identification, logical thinking, methodical approach and decision analytics, EQ 2014 witnessed an enormous participation of final year students from across IITs.

Team Yin Yang from IT BHU, represented by Rittic Kashyap and Gaurav Kumar Sharma was declared the winner, while Team Gladiators, represented by Ashok Reddy and Darak Anmol from IIT Kharagpur was named the runner-up of the competition. The winning teams are eligible to receive cash prizes of INR 100,000 and INR 50,000 respectively, along with certificates and EQ 2014 merchandise from EXL. EXL also declared four teams as group winners and two teams as group runners-up, who will receive cash prizes of INR 30,000 and INR 15,000 (for each team) respectively.

The case study competition required participants to solve a logistics case study this year, based on their analytical abilities and create compelling and realistic business solutions. The contest, launched on September 1, 2014, saw participation of 785 teams (each team comprising of two members) from various IITs.

IITians were required to prepare a case study solution in the first round, based on which 30 teams qualified to the next round. Round Two involved preparing and giving a presentation based on the solution offered to a team of senior management executives from EXL. Each year, EQ has reinforced EXL’s commitment towards building a strong talent base, developing the right capabilities by nurturing talent and fostering innovation within the organization.
